About Orango

Orango was founded in 2023 by chemical engineer and educator Matt Breidigan with a simple mission: make chemistry make sense.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Matt began tutoring college chemistry while working as an engineer. It didn't take long to notice a pattern. Students from different universities, taking different professors, and using different textbooks were struggling with the exact same concepts for the exact same reasons.

The problem wasn't that students weren't capable—it was that they weren't being taught in a way that actually helped them understand.

Over the next several years, Matt worked with hundreds of students and began refining a teaching system built around one goal: explaining difficult concepts as clearly and logically as possible. Rather than relying on memorization or shortcuts, he developed a structured curriculum that breaks chemistry into intuitive, repeatable steps students can actually understand and apply.

As the demand for tutoring continued to grow, it became clear that the approach wasn't just effective—it was scalable. The explanations, problem-solving methods, and lesson structure worked consistently across universities and courses because the underlying challenges students faced were remarkably universal.

That realization became the foundation of Orango.

Today, every Orango tutor is personally selected from the organization's top former students and trained extensively in Matt's teaching methodology. Every lesson follows the same proven framework, ensuring that whether a student works with Matt or another member of the team, they receive the same high-quality instruction, clear explanations, and consistent learning experience.
